Q: Why do you only have a handful of batteries for sale?
A: We found the highest quality, hi capacity rechargeable batteries that we could. There are hundreds of choices to be made, and we decided to make the best choices for you. We will not try to sell you a lower capacity battery just because the price is so much cheaper. These batteries are well made and will serve you for hundreds of charge cycles. Enough said.
Q: Which charger should I buy?
A: That is an excellent question. Many chargers do the same thing as the next, making the decision making process quite difficult. We picked our favorite handful among literally hundreds of choices, each for different reasons. We have included as much information in the description as we could to help you make a good decision. We have added a comparison chart to help you narrow down the choices based on what's the most important to you.
Q: Are your watch batteries rechargeable?
A: No they are not. But we were so disgusted by the prices of these batteries from retail stores and even online retailers that we decided to do our best to put a stop to it. Plus the packaging is just ending up in the landfill. When you buy these batteries from other companies, you are literally paying at least 4 times the cost you should be paying just to cover the cost of packaging! That is insane! Our batteries come in small individual zip lock bags to retain freshness. (Our hearing aid batteries are the only exception to this.. they come in the packaging shown on the website).
Q: Why should I switch to NiMh Rechargeable Batteries?
A: For one, you'll help the environment by reducing waste and reducing the amount of chemicals sent to the landfill each year. You will save money over the cost of a standard alkaline battery over time. As long as the batteries are not abused, you can recharge our batteries hundreds of times, significantly reducing battery costs.
Q: Do these batteries have a "memory"?
A: The full answer to this question is quite technical, but the short answer is no. The memory effect you are likely asking about is the result of recharging a battery that has not been fully depleted. Over time, doing this on other types of batteries, it would limit the amount of capacity the battery has. NiMh batteries can be damaged through abuse and overcharging, but using a quality charger will eliminate most of your overcharging problems.
ALL OF THE CHARGERS THAT WE SELL USE A MICRO-CHIP TO DETERMINE WHEN THE BATTERY BEING CHARGED IS FULL. Because we only sell micro-chip controlled chargers, you won't need to worry about damaging your batteries through overcharging.
Q: What kind of abuse will damage a battery?
A: Batteries are considered depleted when their output levels have diminished to a certain level. That is the point that rechargeable batteries are supposed to be charged again. All batteries are rarely depleted completely. Most digital electronics and many others simply stop working when the power supply has grown sufficiently low. Some devices do not. Flashlights are an example of batteries that do not stop functioning when the battery capacity is depleted. We have all seen this happen when the flashlight in your hand is glowing really dark yellow and is barely producing a beam. If a rechargeable battery is depleted completely it will be damaged beyond repair. This is because at a certain point, the polarity of the battery will actually reverse, making recharge impossible.
Q: Do you ship internationally?
A: Yes we will, just email us the items that you wish to have shipped and the address we will be shipping to and we'll get you a custom quote.
